It seems that is imposible to type the ˜ symbol (named also tilde,squiggle,twiddle,not,approx,wiggle,swung,dash,enyay,sqiggle) in Netbeans with a Swedish keyboard at least. It seems that it’s a long known java bug (bug 6353098, bug 6253172). At least I can use the Alt+126 code to type it.
There is no easy way to create tables in an Evernote table the best way I found is to use blocknote freeware WYSIWYG html editor to create the table and then paste it into the Evernote note.
I just received my new MacBook Pro. I got this crash on the first day :-(. I put it to sleep and when I tried to restore… look what showed up on the screen.
I just upgrade my venerable Nvidia 980 XGL with a more modern video card the Sapphire ATI X1650 Pro AGP. The X1650 is not cutting-edge but it really boosted the Half-Life 2 performance, I can get 40+ fps in 1900x1200 in my 24" monitor. I’m pretty impressed. I’m not a hard core gamer, though.
I started using Jaiku, or should I say I tried to start usign Jaiku? Whenever I try to add a feed I always get a **"No feeds found at that address"** msg. The issue is reported here and here in the #jaiku support channel and they seem to be working on it but the issue has been there for 18 hours or so

I’m using an Axis2 Java client to communicate with a gSoap web service. Axis2 rejects the gSoap response so I used wireshark to see what’s gSoap sending back. Now it’s clear what is the problem, gSoap is not sending the “HTTP/1.1 200 OK” as the first line. That’s because I’m using WITH_NOIO, so if your are having the same problem either write yourself the “HTTP/1.1 200 OK” line into the response or change the stdsoap2.c file to send the line anyway. just look for the line ...

I’ve been playing a little with Facebook API and I run into problems when trying to use the facebook.feed.publishStoryToUser api call. That call always return 0 (permissions error) for me. I realized that there’s a difference between “Added applications” and “Authorized applications”. So if you just direct the user to the login page (http://www.facebook.com/login.php?api_key=YOUR_API_KEY&v=1.0) from you application your app will end up in the Authorized Applications side. You have to direct the users to your application page in facebook first (http://www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?id=xxxxxxxx&ref=s).

From here, I learnt about Purchasing Power Parity and using the data from the IMF I obtained the PPP ratios from Spain, Sweden and other countries. Using this list you can translate how much worth is your money in other country. For example, roughly we can say that goods you buy in Sweden using 10000€ can be purchased in Spain for only 8058€.
